I felt like trying to draw Catharine in the Ouran style and then I got the idea of drawing a fake screenshot of her first true meeting with the Host Club. I think she came out ok but I messed up Haruhi. I tried so hard to make her look like herself but something on her is off. I think it might be the eyes cause I was having some problems with them
Anyways, this was meant to be a scene after Catharine fines out that Haruhi is a girl,
thanks to Tamaki's big mouth, and Tamaki was trying to keep her from talking by using his princely act on her but she wasn't having any of that and just lets him have it. Telling him that using flowery words and sticking a plant in her face won't sway her, that she was insulted that he would use such a act on her and that she couldn't understand why the other girls were so in love with him with an act like that. This, of course, makes Tamaki depressed and it shocks the others, except for Haruhi, because Catharine, before now, has always seemed like a very sweet and polite girl. Haruhi is the only one that isn't surprised by this 180 in her personality because when Catharine found out she was a commander, she kind of forced Haruhi to be friends with her. Since she's not really allowed to be herself out of fear of what it might do to her families name, she didn't have any friends. She pretended to be friends with some of the other students in her class but she never counted them as real friends since she never showed them who she really was. But since Haruhi was only a commander, she kind of found freedom in her. Though at first Haruhi didn't like it because Catharine treated her more like a play thing then a friend. It wasn't until one of Catharine's maids examined it to her, that she actually understood why Catharine had forced her to hang out with her. The maid also told her that she shouldn't be fooled, that Catharine did actually see her as a friend but she just had a weird way of showing it.
